July Miscellaneous

And here are all the other pictures from July :)

Family Nature Walk

At the end of July we went on a family nature walk one evening. We went to the same nature preserve that Jason and the girls had been to at the beginning of the month. It was very pretty and very peaceful, and it was just a really nice way to spend time together.

Trucks at the Library

As part of its summer reading program, the library close to us had lots of fun events (like the reptile one that we went to at the end of June). In July, one day they had a bunch of different kinds of trucks for the kids to come see and climb in and explore. We came with some of our friends and started with the ambulance:

And then the fire truck:

It was a super, super hot day (definitely around a hundred degrees), so after the fire truck we took a break under the tent and had some  of the free otter pops and water bottles.

They we finished up by turning on the different kinds of sirens in the firefighter pickup truck:

My friend Brittany and her kids:

We had a few more otter pops and then cooled down inside of the library.

Treehouse Playground

One Saturday in July we went over for a little day trip to Katy, to just kind of explore around the area where Jason sometimes works (the Katy Texas' Children's Hospital campus.) We found a cool park with a playground the girls loved and had a picnic lunch.

Poor little hot, flushed Susie trying to do "cheese:"

We also caught a bunch of big grasshoppers to bring home and feed to our pet toad, Yoyo. (Who, as I typed that out, I realized I haven't introduced you to yet. Soon!)
