Books I want to read this summer

Olo! (said like Megamind. If you haven't seen that movie, you should. It's hilarious.)

So, I have a couple books on my reading list right now. Summer is such a great time to read books, isn't it? These ones, though, I'm kind of actually waiting to read. You see, every summer my family goes to Lake Powell with my Dad. It's my favorite trip of the year. It's so fun, and amazing, and I just love it. And, every year, there's plenty of time to sit down and read books in the warm air in the shade on the houseboat, with some yummy snacks and a cool drink next to you. It's pretty much the best. The books I want to take to Lake Powell this year are:

A World Without Heroes (The Beyonders) by Brandon Mull

Brandon Mull's one of my favorite authors. If you'll recall, I wrote a post on his  Fablehaven series a while ago. I'm so excited for this new series of his!

The Throne of Fire (The Kane Chronicles) by Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan is also one of my favorite authors, and I also wrote a post about him and his Percy Jackson series a couple months ago. The Throne of Fire is actually second in one of two series he's writing right now, and I'm excited to read it. I always love when I know a book is going to be good, you know?

The Happiness Project by Gretchen Ruben

This one I actually found when Jason and I were having part of our date night at Barnes & Noble last week. We went to browse and look at books, and I liked the look of this one. I read the first few chapters, and I like it and want to finish it. So, it's on the list.

What books do you guys want to read this summer? What have you just read? Do you have any recommendations?

  1. I am so excited to read the Beyonders too! I just loves Brandon Mull. I don't like The Kane Chronicles nearly as muh as the off-shoot series from Percy Jackson--the Egyptian stuff just doesn't strike me as as cool as the Greek/ Roman stuff--but so far I've liked them. (Just not as much =) And I've never heard of The Happiness Project, but the mere fact that it's on your list, and I love your book lists, I am so going to read it now! I'm also planning on reading City of Bones, and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, and The Hiding Place =)
